FATSTOCK MARKET – MONDAY 19th DECEMBER - RED MARKET
York Auction Centre had 280 head of stock forward including 155 Cattle, 124 Sheep and 81 Pigs at their weekly sale of Prime stock.
The last fat market of 2022 so before reading the report, we at York Auction Centre would like to thank you all for selling your stock with us and your support through yet another tricky year.
A much lighter show of cattle to match demand, all were a good trade.
Top spot this week went to W Robshaw & Son for a Limousin steer weighing 628kg selling for 318p/kg, purchased by J Penny & Sons. This was closely followed by a Limousin heifer from H Crossley & Sons weighing 584kg selling at 317p/kg, purchased by B W Glaves & Sons LTD.

A nice show of just over 100 lambs with bulk of the lambs on offer falling in the 45-52kg category selling to highs of 313pp/kg for some superb 46kg Beltex lambs grossing £144 along with another pen of 47kg Beltex lambs at the same price. Next highest grossing lambs were £134p/head or 2.71pp/kg from regular supports M Kendra & Sons. More well-fed lambs are needed eery week, so please don’t hesitate to call Stephen or James.
