SHEEP

A much-improved entry today, with some super lambs forward! Trade very much similar to last week, maybe just down a couple of pence but nothing major. The top lambs today were presented by W H Lockwood, with their super first draw of texels selling to £179/ head or 365ppkg! Fantastic lambs at a super trade, selling to Knavesmire Butchers. The average today sat at a respectable 303.06/kg with plenty of lambs forward 300ppkg or better, many more can be sold every week! 65 cull sheep can only be described as an electric trade! With top ewes today selling to £170 for a smart pen of texel crosses presented by local vendors J B Potter & sons, all cont x types forward full of meat and good to sell and mules sold to £100/ head from F Barker & sons to Yorkshire halal meat suppliers, all culls to average £105/ head.
