SHEEP

A good number forward today, and although trade was back as in line with national trends, the overall average was better than expected with all creatures great on small penned! 144 lambs sold to tops of £150 for a heavy texel from David Lambert selling to J A Jewitt meats. The top pp/kg lambs today were presented by R A Suddaby which sold to 318/kg for a nice tight skinned texel x, the SQQ sat at 288.32 with an all in average of 283.6, which considering a few lambs just lacked a bit of finish and some rare breeds made an appearance, looked a good trade on the day. In the Cull section, 86 head sold to £128 for a texel tup from C&S Crossley, ewes stopped at £122/ head for a pen of Suffolk x from R A Suddaby and culls averaged a respectable £95.23/ head across the board.
