SHEEP

A better number than expected forward today with the current bluetongue restrictions stopping movement from east Yorks and Lincolnshire, but rest assured the LAA are working hard to try and ease restrictions to red markets! Trade topped at 317/kg for a nice pen of beltex x from R A Dobson selling to Harry Bromwich family butchers, the top grossing lambs also came from the Dobson family realising £150/ head selling to G Haslehurst butchers. The average just dropped a little on the week to 286.8 and SQQ of 286.39 but all pens looked well sold. In the cull section Riseborough farming sold a nice pen of texel x ewes to £132/ head, others to £110 and Suffolks to £80, mules sold to tops of £95/ head, all ewes today to average £91.32. 

Store and breeding sales will continue fortnightly on Thursdays with the next sale on the 26th, please note we can currently only accept entries from stock out of the bluetongue restricted zones.
