York Auction Centre had 319 head of stock forward including 141 Cattle, 82 Sheep and 96 Pigs at their weekly sale of Prime stock.

68 Continental Young Bulls sold to 342p/kg from A Spence & Co and to £2573.55 from S Beachell & Son; to average 300.81p/kg.

14 Native Breed Young Bulls sold to 308p/kg from D A Shirt & Sons and to £2071.59 from H W Cowling & Son; to average 283.29p/kg.

23 Black and White Young Bulls sold to 297p/kg from H W Cowling & Son and to £2170.38 from J Brewster: to average 261.07/kg.

9 Continental X Steers sold to 360p/kg from W Robshaw & Son and £2381.42 from Wagstaff Bros: to average 327.94p/kg.

SHEEP

The short supply of lambs once again ensured an absolutely flying trade for all types penned! Regular mart supporters Andrew Dobson topped both the pp/kg and gross at 374ppkg and £157 for his super texel x lambs to Harry Bromwich family butchers, other good lambs from H&B Beevers sold to 322/kg and another 5 pens sold between 300-330/kg! The SQQ sat at 304.56/kg and all in sat at 300.38/kg.  

A decent number of culls forward sold to tops of £150 from Green Farm for a heavy crossbred weather, with Richard Greenbank selling Suffolk crosses to £130/ head, plain sorts regularly around £60-£70, all types forward to average £101/ head.
