SHEEP

A better number of lambs forward today and a few more commercial lambs penned which brought the average back in line, but all types looked well sold once again with no difference in trade for restricted zone lambs and vendors returning home happy. Andrew Dobson topped the pp/kg once again at 329/kg for a super 42kg beltex, and another 2 at 326ppkg. A superb consignment of heavier, smart lambs from Neil tattersall sold very well with everyone over 300p with a blue texel x of his topping the trade over all at £159. More commercial texel x Cheviot types from Andrew Gibson sold regularly around the 270ppkg mark and well-fed Suffolk x types from Richard Greenbank sold from 271-284ppkg. 

In the cull section, 18 ewes sold to £124 for a pen of Tex x to average £110/ head.
