17 Native Breed Young Bulls sold to 400p/kg R E Schofield and to £2486.40 from D A Shirt & Sons; to average 378.97p/kg.
25 Black and White Young Bulls sold to 393p/kg from A P & R A Dunn and H W Cowling & Son and to £2905.10 from Robin Warkup LTD; to average 355p/kg.
35 Continental X Steers sold to 462p/kg from J R Hildreth and £3406.80 from M D Medd: to average 403.47p/kg.

14 OTM sold to 342p/kg from W B & A Kilby & Son and to £2712.97 from J E & H J Gilbertson; to average 294.82p/kg.
A super number of cattle forward today with 138 Young bulls, 118 clean, and and 15 OTMs penned.
Bulls sold to 451ppkg for a 782kg brbx totalling £3522.91 selling to Woolley bros of Sheffield. And an enormous sim x bull from Robin Warkup Ltd topped the continental x bulls over all at £3760.35 or 398ppkg at 946kgs! Native bulls sold to 400ppkg for a nicely fed AAX from R E Schofield to average 378.97p/kg and black and whites continue to look the best sold cattle, with local mart supporters A P & R A Dunn topping the trade at 393ppkg for a very well finished British Friesian, and Robin Warkup presented the top grossing black and white bull totalling a super £2905.
118 clean cattle sold to 479ppkg for a well finished Lim x heifer from G J Taylor selling to Rob Featherstone butchers of Howden, and the top grossing steer was presented by M D Medd of Sawdon totalling £3406 for a tremendous Lim x brb selling to Worsley wholesale butchers. Otms topped out at 341ppkg for a well-fed cow from w b & a Kilby, and j h & j Gilbertson presented the top grossing cow totalling £2712. Although clean and bulls looked down a shade on the week, all cattle sold away well, and all vendors returned home happy!

162 hoggs very a very similar trade on the week although back a pence or two, R A Dobson sold their super beltex hoggs to 415ppkg and £182/ head selling to Robertshaw’s farm shop, and heavy hoggs from M L Parvin sold to £170 to C K Retail. The SQQ sat at 320.39, and overall hoggs averaged 313. 6 new season lambs from W G Coleman sold to £162/ head to Rob Featherstone butchers to tops of 351ppkg and to average 344. In the cull Section J Smith topped the trade at £199 for a pen of smart texel x and R A Dobson wasn’t far behind with a Tex x at £180, all culls to average £166.
