2 Native Breed Young Bulls sold to 262p/kg from H W Cowling and to £1835.73 also from H W Cowling; to average 245.50p/kg.

SHEEP

A very light show of lambs forward today with the bad weather keeping a lot at home and vendors reporting lambs aren’t thriving as the grass begins to run out. But what vendors managed to make it were rewarded with a decent trade with tops of the day being from R A Dobson both ppkg and gross price. A pen of 3 48kg lambs sold to £147/ head or 306/kg which was also the top ppkg of the day. All types sold away nicely with a lift on the overall average to 265/kg.

In the cull section, a very good number forward sold to £124/ head for some big continental x types from P D & SE Johnson, all ewes to average £80/ head across the board, and a consignment of goats from playdale farm sold to £60/ head.
