SHEEP

156 hoggs forward today with trade similar to last week, top grossing lambs today were presented by R A Dobson at £159/ head, with the Dobson family once again taking the top/ kg at 320ppkg. Light hoggs sold to £120/ head and 308/kg from R J Greenbank, Mediums to £131 and 291/ kg and Heavies to £159 and 320/kg. All but one pen of lambs today 260/kg upwards with just one pen with teeth up pulling the overall average back.  In the cull section 65 ewes sold to tops of £160 for two smart texels to average a healthy £93/ head, meated ewes regularly over £100 with just one or two penalised for fat. Numbers still tight and hoggs remain firmly in demand! Store lambs Thursday the 1st at 1pm.
