SHEEP

Not a huge show forward today with a few vendors reporting either lambs aren’t quite fit or were busy with land work, but those who made it presented a super show of well finished lambs with plenty weight! Trade lifted to a respectable SQQ of 301.63/kg, and an all in average of 289.63/kg. Local mart supporters JB Potter topped the pence per kilo today at 324/kg for their nice little texels. Top gross price was shared between R A Dobson and M Kendra & sons at £159/ head, 300ppkg and 318pp/kg respectively! Selling to Harry Bromwich family butchers of York and G Haslehurst & Son butchers. All lambs good to sell and many more can be sold every week! In the cull section, ewes sold to £140 for a heavy Suffolk x from the Kendra family, and mules sold to £110/ head, all culls forward to average £100.67
