SHEEP

Trade continues to climb with a jump of 25ppkg on the week! A few less in today with a couple of vendors hoggs just requiring a week or two more feeding, but trade went up a gear yet again with all meated and heavy sorts keenly sought after. R A Dobson once again took the top gross price at £176/ head for some well-fed beltex x and the Dobson family also achieved the top pp/kg at 346. 16 pens made 315/kg or better with others not far behind, charolais mules sold to 329/kg from N Sergeant and heavy texel x mules from S Bristow sold to 326/kg, with a respectable average of 308.32 across the board, with a few 50-60kg hoggs just pulling the overall figure back a touch. A lighter show was forward in the cull section too with best texels selling to £148 and mules to £88 to average £108.
