FORWARD

York Auction Centre had 128 head of stock through the market including 66 store cattle, 4 breeding cattle, 11 calves and 47 store sheep at their weekly store market.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £500 for a British Friesian from R & E B Drake.

Breeding cattle sold to £1320 for a Aberdeen Angus Cow with a Heifer Aberdeen Angus Calf at foot from L A Clappison. 
Heifers sold to £1470 for a Saler from F Frankish & Son.

Steers sold to £1390 for a Aberdeen Angus from A E Dunn & Son.

Bulls sold to £985 for a Blonde X from C T Bramley & Son.

Only a small show today with one or two vendors tied up elsewhere but all lambs flew away to a roaring trade with an overall average of £99! Top price today went to H&B Beevers at £116/ head for some super beltex x lambs, with other pens of lambs in their consignment selling to £103, £105, £114, and £116 a head! Longer term lambs sold to £81 a head for a pen of Suffolks from G R & S Marson with the top lamb from their draw selling to £104 for a Suffolk x.
