FORWARD

York Auction Centre had 129 head of stock through the market including 57 store cattle, 17 calves.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £640 for a British Friesian from R & E B Drake.

Heifers sold to £1625 for a British Blue from S & K Asquith.

Steers sold to £1680 for a Limousin X from S & K Asquith.

Bulls sold to £1200 for a British Blue from C T Bramley & Son.

Calves

A flying trade for stirks today with a British Friesian bull stirk from R & E B Drake selling to £640 with an Angus steer from R Nicholson not far behind at £635. A couple of smaller Angus heifers sold well and above vendor expectations to £470 and £365 from Chris Tune. Next up a nice consignment of very nicely presented, weaned black and white bulls from B Lumley sold to £225 with nothing in the consignment under £175. Calves and stirks wanted every week!
