York Auction Centre had 160 head of stock through the market including 111 store cattle, 41 calves and 8 breeding cattle.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £770 for a Limousin X from E R Lazenby.

Breeding cattle sold to £1700 for a British Blue Heifer with a Limousin X Heifer calf at foot.

Heifers sold to £1450 for a Limousin X from A W Turner & Son.

Steers sold to £1520 for a Limousin X from L A Clappison.

Bulls sold to £1200 for a Limousin X from J & M Dean & Son.

Calves

40 calves & stirks forward today with something for every buyer! The day set off with a good run of fresh calves, with A Burgess selling to £400 twice for some super month-old Limousin x bull calves, with J E & M Else not far behind selling a lovely sim x bull calf to £325. Native calves sold to £390 for a strong AAX bull from D V Lee. Next up were the stirks which flew away to £770 for a nice Limousin heifer and a super run of BRB X and AA X heifers from Rob Brownbridge and Callay Kirby sold to £620/ head all to the same buyer, and the top bull stirk today was an Angus presented by R Nicholson selling to £615.
