Store Cattle

A quieter day than we’ve had over the last few weeks, but a packed ringside of buyers ensured a good trade for all who attended. The top cattle today were presented by L A Clappison of Keyingham with a shapely Limousin x steer selling to £1380 and a BRB X heifer selling to £1335. Not many bigger short keep cattle in today, with most sorts in the market today around the 400kg mark, a run of Limousin x Sussex steers from I. Hutchinson sold from £1035 to £1125 and some lovely Limousin x heifers from C Ellwood & son sold from £1170-£1275, natives sold to £1190 for a nicely presented AAX heifer. Bulls were good to sell today with a brilliant consignment of suckler bred Charolais from JF Lambert which sold to highs of £1295 to average £1245, or 2.90/kg!

Plenty store cattle can be handled every week to fill buyer requirements! Call Edward or James to enter your stock.

Calves

In the calf section, the trade can only be described as electric! A run of well-fed fresh calves from G & J Dean kicked off the day with AAX heifers selling to £130, and AAX bulls selling to £148. A run of quality British Friesian bull calves from the same home absolutely flew away selling to £270! To average a tremendous £252/ head! Next up were the Stirks, with a nice trio of AAX heifers from Fryer Bros selling to £540/ head.

Buyers here for calves and stirks every week!
