York Auction Centre had 156 head of stock through the market including 98 store cattle, 52 calves and 6 breeding cattle.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £660 for a Hereford Bull Calf from M I C Slater.

Breeding cattle sold to £1680 for a Aberdeen Angus cow with a Aberdeen Angus Bull calf from Richard Nicholson LTD.

Heifers sold to £1605 for a Charolais X from J F Lambert.

Steers sold to £1450 for a Limousin X from C Ellwood & Son.

Bulls sold to £850 for a British Friesian from N P Turnbull.

Calves

A tremendous show of cattle today with larger numbers than expected!

A big show of calves and stirks started the day with fresh calves selling to £455 for a superb British Blue heifer from Riseborough Farming and stirks sold to £660 for a nice Hereford bull from M I C Slater. Strong demand for calves and stirks every week! 

In the big ring, a young cow & calf outfit from Richard Nicholson LTD sold to £1680. Store cattle looked as good a trade as ever. Heifers topped at £1605 for a super Charolais X from J F Lambert. Steers sold to £1450 for a strong Limousin X from C Ellwood & Son. Other strong cattle from T Booth selling particularly well for a consignment of BRB heifers selling to £1470/ head. Bulls selling to £850/ head for a pen of British Friesian’s from N P Turnbull.
