FORWARD

York Auction Centre had 57 head of stock through the market including 44 store cattle and 13 calves.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £600 for a Limousin X heifer Calf from E R Lazenby.

Heifers sold to £1640 for a Limousin X from S Millward & Sons.

Steers sold to £1485 for a Charolais X from S Millward & Sons.

Bulls sold to £975 for a Hereford from F Atkinson & Son.

A reasonable show today with all grades of cattle as good to sell as ever, no fresh calves forward this week, but some entered for next week from A Burgess! A nice show of stirks topped at £600/ head for a pair of lim x heifers from E Lazenby and a super run of Hereford x bulls sold to £580/ head from G W & M Singleton, all vendors returned home delighted once again! 

In the big ring, S Millward & sons topped the day with a superb pen of cattle, lim x heifers sold to £1640, and steers topped at £1485 and W B & A Kilby weren’t far behind with their excellent run of suckler bred Limousin heifers with 3 lots £1400-£1510! Smaller cattle sold to £1280 for a bax heifer from C T Bramley, and a nice run of BRB X heifers sold to £1100/ head from R A & J M Smith.
