York Auction Centre had 77 head of stock throughout the market including 4 breeding cattle and 73 store cattle.

TOP PRICES

Breeding cattle sold to £950 for a Limousin X Bull from C R Simpson.

Heifers sold to £1675 for a Limousin X from Cornborough Farms.

Steers sold to £1390 for a Limousin X from C Ellwood & Sons.

A super entry of store cattle today met a very fast trade with a packed ringside of buyers old and new! No calves or stirks forward this week but some super lim x heifer calves from A Burgess are entered for next week! 

A handful of breeding cattle started the day, with a cow and calf outfit from C R Simpson grossing £1740- £790 for the cow and £950 for the 9-month-old calf. An older Hereford cow run with the bull from Leeds city council sold to £765 and a younger Hereford run with the bull sold to £900.

Tim Walford of Cornborough Farms topped the days store cattle at £1675/ head for a pair up super lim x heifers with other good sorts in the consignment selling to £1450/ head and plenty cattle in the run just under £3/kg! Thank-you Tim for using us to disperse the finishing herd! A super run of cattle from W B & A Kilby looked very well sold topping at £1620 for a super black lim heifer, and other heifers in the run flew away from £1140- £1525, all cattle 279-339ppkg!! Steers sold to £1390 for a nice lim x from C Ellwood & sons and Granville Ellis wasn’t far behind with a pair of tremendous, well presented suckler bred steers selling to £1375/ head to local mart supporter Andrew Johnson.
