York Auction Centre had 130 head of stock through the market including 86 store cattle and 44 calves.

 

TOP PRICES

 

Calves sold to £910 for a British Blue Heifer Calf from Jonathon Black.

Heifers sold to £2305 for an Aberdeen Angus from J B Hornby.

Steers sold to £2330 for a Saler from D J Slatcher.

Bulls sold to £1895 for a Charolais X from J F Lambert.

 

 

130 head of store stock through the market again today with 86 store cattle and 44 calves & stirks.

 

The calf ring saw a very fast trade once again with heifer stirks selling to £910 for a super BRBx from Jonathan Black, and W J Fox weren’t far behind selling a trio of BRBx heifers to £845/ head. Steers sold to £865 from F Atkinson and bull stirks topped at £640, part of a run of 4 month old AAX stirks from D V Lee which looked very well sold! Fresh calves hit another level today with Helen Smith of Dalton Parva topping to trade at £540 twice for her superb 4 week old Lim x bulls! Other nice but smaller rearers from G & J Dean of Slingsby sold well with BRBx bulls selling to £470, and heifers to £360, native heifer calves from the same home sold to £280! In the big ring, all forward cattle looked every bit as dear as ever with David Slatcher topping the steers and overall price today at £2,330/ head for a pair of tremendous Saler x steers! Other strong steers sold to £2,200 for a nice Lim x. Heifers sold to £2,305 for a heavy AAX from J B Hornby, with others from the same home selling to £2180, and G C Altoft sold a super Sim heifer to £2170. Other heavy sorts sold to £2,130 for an AAX heifer from Frank Sellars, and a good run of AAX and Herefords from E A Hughes sold to £2,130 for heifers and £1925 for steers. Smaller cattle sold to £1445/ head for a pair of Lim x heifers from A & G M Grant and a pair of nice Sim x steers from G & A Ellis sold to £1300/ head. John Lambert once again topped the bulls at £1895/ head for his super Charolais, with others from the same home selling to £1890 and £1755, other Lim x bulls from D Mitchell sold to £1200/ head.
