FORWARD

York Auction Centre had 90 head of stock through the market including 53 store cattle, 7 breeding cattle and 30 calves.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £450 for a Fleckvien from K & A & Avis and a Montbeliarde also from K & A & Avis.

Breeding cattle sold to £1240 for a British shorthorn Cow with a Bull British shorthorn Calf at foot from R Smith. 
Heifers sold to £1370 for a British Blue from L A Clappison.

Steers sold to £1375 for a Simmental X from G C Altoft.

Bulls sold to £785 for a Limousin X from J A Bullock Farm.

A good number of calves in today with both new vendors and some we haven’t seen for a while coming to give York trade a try!  Best, 1st quality calves flew away to £435 for a superb 4-week-old Lim x from HL & TE Smith and Angus bulls from the same consignment selling to £375. Smaller fresh calves sold to £345 for a lim x from regular supporters A Burgess with no calves in their load under £335! Next up was a run of older calves from J E & M Else with a large consignment of Simmental x selling to £360 for a stronger sim x bull, with dairy bulls from the same home selling to £152. A packet of well-presented dairy x bull stirks from K & A Avis sold to £450 for montbeliarde x and £340 for black and whites.

Plenty calves can be handled every week!
