FORWARD

York Auction Centre had 203 head of stock through the market including 46 store cattle, 5 breeding cattle, 43 calves and 109 store sheep.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £385 for a Limousin X heifer and a Limousin X bull calf from A Burgess.

Breeding cattle sold to £1480 for a Hereford Cow with a British shorthorn Bull Calf at foot from G & A Henley & Son. 
Heifers sold to £1150 for a British Blue from T E & R Dent.

Steers sold to £1655 for a Aberdeen Angus from A S & L Leadbeater.

Bulls sold to £880 for a British Blue from T E & R Dent.

A decent show of lambs penned today with 109 head forward, one or two vendors missing with the wet weather, but all sold away well with plenty of buyers in attendance and some going home empty! Store lambs topped at £112/ head for some strong texel x from H&B Beevers. Not just as many beltex or short keep lambs today, nevertheless the market averaged a healthy £92/ head. 22 Feeding ewes from BHE Agricultural sold to £58 for Cheviot x mule and £30/ head for swaledales, all ewes forward broken mouthed.
