York Auction Centre had 96 head of stock through the market including, 81 store cattle and 15 calves.

TOP PRICES

Calves sold to £660 for a Limousin X Heifer Calf from D V Lee.

Bulls sold to £1055 for an Aberdeen Angus from J & M Dean & Son.

Heifers sold to £1630 for a Saler from F Frankish & Son.

Steers sold £1440 for a Hereford from G F & C H Johnson.

Another busy days trading at YAC with 96 head through the market!

A small but nice show of calves and stirks met a very fast trade once again with plenty local farmer buyers looking to stock up! A consignment of stirks from D V Lee sold to £660 twice for his Limousin x heifers and to £655 for an AAX bull, every stirk in the consignment well over the £600 barrier! And a run of sweet little rearers from G & J Dean looked well sold to highs of £355 for a nice coloured fleckvieh x bull calf with others regularly in the 220-300 bracket! More calves entered next week from A Burgess and H L & T E Smith!

In the big ring store cattle flew away to £1630 for a super 525kg Saler heifer from F Frankish & son, and steers topped at £1440/ head for a super pen full of Herefords from local vendors G F & C H Johnson. A nice packet of BRBx heifers from regular vendors J R Sturdy sold to £1260/ head and Askham Bryan college weren’t far behind selling a pen of similar BRBx heifers to £1235/ head and a pen of AAX steers at £1245/ head, part of a superb run of cattle from them.

Smaller cattle looked as well sold as ever with a nice run of AAX bulls from J & M Dean & son selling to £1055/ head , and W J Fox & son sold AAX heifers to £795/ head.

More store cattle, calves and sheep already entered for next week alongside the dressed poultry sale!
